Sterling Tech-Mobility has announced plans to set up a manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka, in partnership with Chinese firm Kunshan GLVAC Yuantong New Energy Technology.
This initiative will focus on producing high-voltage DC (HVDC) contactors and relays, essential components for electric and hybrid vehicles (EVs and HEVs).
Projected to generate Rs 2.5 billion in revenue by FY30, the facility aims to strengthen India’s EV supply chain by enabling domestic access to advanced technology.
Sterling Tools will leverage niche technology to manufacture and assemble HVDC components locally, supporting Indian OEMs and tier-I suppliers.
HVDC contactors and relays are vital for safe power circuit switching in EVs, helping to protect against electrical faults while enhancing operational efficiency.
