Shirdi Sainath Power to set up battery plant in Bihar
Shri Shirdi Sainath Power Infratech Pvt. Ltd. will invest Rs 87.55 crore to establish a lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant at the Hathua Industrial Area in Gopalganj, Bihar. The facility will have a production capacity of 5,000 batteries per day and is expected to become operational by 2027.
The project will manufacture batteries for applications across electric mobility, renewable energy storage, power backup, telecommunications and industrial systems. It has received approval from the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) under the state’s industrial promotion policy.
Battery production
The proposed plant will manufacture lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles (EVs), solar energy storage systems, inverters, telecom equipment and a range of industrial applications.
With planned output of 5,000 batteries per day, the facility will add battery manufacturing capacity in Bihar as demand for energy storage expands across transport, renewable energy and other electricity applications.
The project is expected to create more than 400 direct jobs. Additional indirect employment is expected through supporting industries, logistics operations and supply chains associated with the manufacturing facility.
Bihar investment
The Rs 87.55 crore project is being developed in the Hathua Industrial Area of Gopalganj and is scheduled to commence operations by 2027.
BIADA has approved the project under Bihar’s industrial promotion policy. The investment is expected to expand the state’s manufacturing base in lithium-ion batteries and support the development of an ecosystem serving electric mobility and energy storage.
The project could also support associated industrial activity in the region through demand for materials, logistics and other manufacturing-related services.
