Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has announced that it has been empanelled by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply and installation of 34,720 Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana / PM-KUSUM B.

The company confirmed that the MSEDCL portal opened on 27 August 2025 for the first tranche of 10,000 units. All pumps were booked by farmers within 1.5 hours of the portal going live. The value of this tranche is about Rs. 268.88 crore.

The empanelment follows a Letter of Empanelment received on 12 August 2025. The order is part of the larger allocation of 34,720 SPWPS to be supplied and installed across Maharashtra.

In recent months, Shakti Pumps has taken steps to expand its presence in solar manufacturing. Last month, the company’s board has approved an equity investment of Rs 120 million in its wholly owned subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Limited, to support solar cell and module manufacturing that meets domestic content requirements. Earlier, the company raised Rs 2.92 billion through a qualified institutional placement (QIP) to fund a greenfield high-efficiency solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, with a planned capacity of 2.20 GW.
