Senvion India Private Limited has secured a contract from Powerica Limited to supply 17 wind turbine generators (WTGs) for a 50 MW wind power project in Gujarat. The order includes M130 WTGs with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower, each with a rated capacity of 3.1 MW.

The project falls under Tranche-XVII of the Inter State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind power initiative. With a total capacity of 52.7 MW, Senvion will handle the supply, erection, and commissioning of the turbines. The company will also provide comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services after commissioning. Turbine delivery is scheduled to begin by December 2026.

Powerica won the project bid in October 2024 with a quoted tariff of Rs 3.81 per kWh. The bidding process was conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in May 2024 for setting up 500 MW of ISTS-connected wind power projects across India.

SECI will sign a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Powerica. The power generated from the Gujarat project will be supplied to distribution companies (DISCOMs) in Bihar.

The project will follow a build, own, and operate (BOO) model. It will include setting up the 50 MW wind capacity along with a dedicated transmission network up to the interconnection point for delivery to SECI. Completion is expected within 24 months from the effective date of the PPA.
