Powerica, NLC, Juniper Green quote lowest tariff in SECI’s 250 MW wind auction
Powerica Limited, NLC India Renewables Limited and Juniper Green Energy Limited emerged as the lowest bidders in the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited’s (SECI) 250 MW grid-connected wind power projects (Phase XI) auction, each quoting a tariff of Rs 3.51 per kWh. The tender also includes a Greenshoe Option for an additional 250 MW.
The tariff-based competitive bidding, followed by an e-Reverse auction, was conducted on July 9, 2026. The auction commenced with a starting tariff of Rs 3.61 per kWh and a minimum bid decrement of Rs 0.01.
Bidding results
Powerica Limited quoted Rs 3.51 per kWh for 50 MW, NLC India Renewables Limited quoted Rs 3.51 per kWh for 100 MW, and Juniper Green Energy Limited quoted Rs 3.51 per kWh for 50 MW.
CU-Built Renewable Energy Private Limited submitted a tariff of Rs 3.52 per kWh for 50 MW, while KPI Green Energy Limited quoted the same tariff for 100 MW. Kintech Synergy Private Limited quoted Rs 3.54 per kWh for 35 MW.
The three lowest bids were 2.77% lower than the auction’s starting tariff. CU-Built Renewable Energy and KPI Green Energy quoted tariffs 2.49% below the starting price, while Kintech Synergy’s bid was 1.94% lower.
Under the tender conditions, bidders quoting within 2.00% of the Rank-1 tariff are eligible for award. Bids exceeding this threshold may not qualify for allocation.
About the tender
SECI invited bids for the procurement of power from 250 MW of grid-connected wind power projects to be developed anywhere in India through a competitive bidding process. The tender includes a Greenshoe Option that allows procurement of an additional 250 MW.
The six bidders collectively quoted 385 MW against the base tender capacity of 250 MW, indicating oversubscription. NLC India Renewables Limited and KPI Green Energy Limited each bid for 100 MW, while Powerica Limited, Juniper Green Energy Limited and CU-Built Renewable Energy Private Limited each quoted 50 MW. Kintech Synergy Private Limited submitted a bid for 35 MW.
