ScottishPower Renewables has awarded Seaway7 a contract for the transport and installation of inter-array cables for the 960 MW East Anglia TWO offshore wind project, located 33 km off England’s east coast in the North Sea.
The contract involves the engineering, supply, and installation of 64 inter-array cables, with project execution managed from Seaway7’s Aberdeen office. Offshore operations are scheduled to commence in 2027.
Awarded in the UK government’s Contracts for Difference (CfD) round in September 2024, the $5.1 billion East Anglia TWO project is part of the East Anglia Hub, a group of offshore wind developments comprising East Anglia ONE, TWO, and THREE, with a combined capacity of 4 GW.
Seaway7 previously secured a similar contract with ScottishPower for East Anglia THREE in June 2023.
ScottishPower CEO Charlie Jordan highlighted that securing the East Anglia TWO supply chain ensures readiness to swiftly deploy another gigawatt of clean energy, building on an established relationship with Seaway7 and advancing UK renewable energy efforts.
