Salzer Electronics Ltd, a new player in the smart meter manufacturing industry, has successfully delivered its first commercial order of 25,000 smart meters, valued at approximately Rs 50 million, during the third quarter (Q3: October to December) of FY25. The company is optimistic about receiving further orders from the same client.
Rajesh Doraiswamy, Joint Managing Director of Salzer Electronics, expressed pride in the achievement, stating that the dispatch of the 25,000 smart meters represents a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to advancing smart grid technology. He also highlighted the company’s strong execution capabilities and the growing customer confidence in its solutions.
Salzer, traditionally a supplier of critical smart meter components like current transformers and relays to other manufacturers, has recently expanded into smart meter manufacturing under its own “Salzer” brand. The company produces smart meters at its Annur plant in Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu.
