ACME Solar signs 300 MW hybrid PPA, commissions 160 MWh BESS
ACME Solar Holdings Limited has expanded its renewable and energy storage portfolio through a new power purchase agreement and the commissioning of additional battery storage capacity, according to separate regulatory filings.
The company, through its wholly owned subsidiary ACME Renewtech Fifth Private Limited, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a 300 MW wind-solar hybrid project under Hybrid Tranche IX. In a separate development, another subsidiary, ACME Suryodaya Private Limited, has commissioned 160.512 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan.
Hybrid project
The PPA signed with SECI has a tenure of 25 years and provides for power supply at a tariff of Rs 3.25 per unit. The project is scheduled to commence supply from June 30, 2028.
The 300 MW project will be connected to Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) substations and is required to maintain a minimum annual Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of 30%.
Following the agreement, ACME Solar’s total contracted portfolio has increased to 8,070 MW. Of this, 6,870 MW now has signed PPAs, providing greater revenue visibility across the company’s project pipeline.
Battery storage
Separately, ACME Suryodaya Private Limited commissioned 160.512 MWh of BESS capacity on July 20, 2026, at its project located in Sanwara and Mehar Nagar, Pokhran, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
The company stated that the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for the commissioned capacity is July 22, 2026.
With the latest addition, ACME Suryodaya’s total commissioned capacity has reached 285 MW / 1,113.472 MWh, further strengthening ACME Solar’s presence in utility-scale energy storage.
The commissioning comes amid increasing deployment of battery storage systems alongside renewable energy projects to support grid balancing and improve power availability during peak demand periods.
