India’s solar manufacturing capacity is set to expand significantly with new projects announced by Saatvik Solar Industries, Solarium Green Energy, and Ahaan Solar.

Saatvik Solar Industries Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Saatvik Green Energy Limited (SGEL), has begun work on a 4 GW solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing plant in Odisha. This is part of an integrated plan that also includes a 4.8 GW solar cell unit and a separate 4 GW module line.

The module line is expected to be operational by the end of FY 2025–26, while the solar cell facility is targeted for completion by the end of FY 2026–27. SGEL is also expanding its existing capacity in Ambala, Haryana, by 1 GW. This addition is expected to be ready by Q1 of FY 2025–26.

Separately, Solarium Green Energy has announced its re-entry into solar manufacturing with a 1 GW fully automated facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The company is investing Rs 700 million in the project, financed through a 3:1 debt-to-equity ratio. The plant is expected to be operational by Q4 of FY 2025–26. At 85% utilisation, Solarium projects annual revenues of over Rs 10 billion from open market module sales.

Ahaan Solar, the solar division of Airox Nigen Equipments, is preparing to begin production from the first phase of its planned 2 GW module manufacturing unit in Haryana by mid-2025. The initial 600 MW phase will be developed within a 17-acre renewable energy park.

Ahaan Solar will use Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) technology to produce high-efficiency solar modules for domestic and global markets. The park will also host Airox Nigen’s 3 GW Aspire Hydrogen electrolyzer facility.
