Crompton wins Rs 1.01 billion order for solar pumps

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals has received a letter of award from the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) for the supply and installation of 4,500 off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems. The contract is valued at Rs 1.01 billion.
The project is part of Component B of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme. It is structured as a turnkey contract, covering design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the systems.
The pumps will be deployed across various locations in Maharashtra and come with a five-year comprehensive maintenance contract.
Crompton will supply its DC submersible solar pumps, designed for durability in off-grid and rural settings. The company plans to manage the project with trained field staff, district-level support teams, and a dedicated after-sales service network.
