Mukesh Ambani has announced a Rs 7 lakh crore investment plan for Gujarat over the next five years, with a focus on clean energy, digital infrastructure, and regional development in Kutch and Saurashtra. The announcement was made at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior state leadership.
Ambani said Reliance Industries Limited will double its cumulative investment in Gujarat to Rs 7 lakh crore, compared with Rs 3.5 lakh crore invested since 2021. He described the commitment as a defined capital roadmap with clear sectoral priorities.
Clean energy remains central to the strategy. Ambani said Reliance is building an integrated clean energy ecosystem in Jamnagar, intending to make it India’s largest exporter of green energy and green materials. He also outlined plans to position Kutch as a global clean energy hub, aligned with Reliance’s investments in solar, batteries, and green hydrogen.
A key element of the plan is digital infrastructure. Reliance is developing India’s largest artificial intelligence ready data centre in Jamnagar. The facility will support a new artificial intelligence (AI) platform to be launched by Jio, aimed at providing affordable AI services in local languages and on personal devices. Gujarat will serve as the initial rollout location.
