Prostarm, Topband sign MoU to assemble BESS in India

Prostarm Info Systems Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Shenzhen Topband Co. Ltd. to explore collaboration for manufacturing battery energy storage systems (BESS) in India under a semi-knocked down (SKD) model, according to a regulatory filing dated April 7, 2026.
The company’s board approved the MoU on April 7, 2026. Under the arrangement, Topband will supply SKD BESS kits along with technology and technical know-how, while Prostarm will handle local assembly, system integration, and commercialisation in India. The partnership is aligned with the Make in India initiative and targets higher domestic value addition.
Prostarm plans to serve commercial and industrial (C&I) segments, residential and commercial BESS applications, and utility-scale projects. The company stated that the agreement is intended to assess business opportunities, strengthen long-term collaboration in India’s energy storage market, and support technology adoption and product development.
The expected outcomes include access to advanced BESS technology and global expertise from Topband, expansion of local manufacturing and integration capabilities, and joint participation in utility-scale and C&I storage projects. Definitive agreements will be executed subject to regulatory and corporate approvals.
For the nine months ended December 31, 2025, Prostarm reported a turnover of Rs 27,863.22 lakhs. Topband reported a turnover of CNY 110,822,09,740 for the year ended December 31, 2025.
Prostarm is engaged in manufacturing and importing UPS systems and offers related services. Its portfolio also includes servo stabilisers, inverters, solar chargers, and power interface units (PIU). Topband, established in 1996 and listed in China, provides intelligent control system solutions across sectors, including power tools, home appliances, digital energy, smart vehicles, and robotics. Â
