Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has completed the acquisition of Mandsaur I RE Transmission Limited (MIRETL), a special purpose vehicle for the transmission project titled “Augmentation of transformation capacity and implementation of line bays at Mandsaur substation for RE interconnection” in Madhya Pradesh.
The acquisition, finalised on October 8, 2025, follows POWERGRID’s selection as the successful bidder under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process.
The scheme, estimated at Rs 319 crore by the National Committee on Transmission, has a completion timeline of 18 months. It is linked to the 765 kV double-circuit Mandsaur-Khandwa transmission line, being developed by another POWERGRID subsidiary, Powergrid Sirohi Khandwa Transmission Ltd. The Mandsaur substation itself is being developed by Powergrid Mandsaur Transmission Ltd, a TBCB subsidiary of POWERGRID.
