PGCIL takes over SPV for Kudankulam ISTS Transmission project

PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) transferred Kudankulam ISTS Transmission Limited, a special purpose vehicle (SPV), to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) on January 10, 2025.Â
The SPV will oversee the development of the transmission system under the Interstate Transmission System (ISTS) for evacuating power from Kudankulam Unit 3 and Unit 4 (2×1000 MW).
PFCCL, as the bid process coordinator (BPC), managed the selection of a transmission service provider (TSP) for the project. The initiative follows a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process and is being implemented on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.
