Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has cleared a Rs 131.68 crore project titled Establishment of State-of-the-Art National Unified Network Management System (N-UNMS). This will integrate all regional network management systems into a unified national platform.

The decision was taken by PGCIL’s Committee of Directors on Investment on Projects during its June 10, 2025 meeting. The project is being executed under the RTM framework, with formal allocation from Central Transmission Utility of India Ltd (CTUIL) on February 24, 2025. Commissioning is due by February 23, 2027.

N-UNMS will enable real-time, national-level monitoring of ISTS (Inter-State Transmission System), state networks, and cross-border links. It involves hardware, software, and database development for main and backup systems, all while ensuring continuity of current operations.
