DRAIPL wins NERGS-III Siang Basin transmission project
Power Finance Corporation has announced the transfer of NERGS III Siang Basin Transmission Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PFC Consulting Limited, to Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon Private Limited (DRAIPL).
The transfer was completed on May 26, 2026, following a competitive bidding process. The Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) was created for the development of the NERGS-III Siang Basin transmission project. Under the Share Purchase Agreement, the consideration received for the transfer stood at Rs 19,70,61,135.
PFC Consulting had earlier identified six qualified bidders for the project: Resonia Limited, Power Grid Corporation of India, Terralight Solar Energy Tinwari, Adani Energy Solutions, DRAIPL, and G R Infraprojects.
The transmission project is part of the interstate transmission system under the North Eastern Region Generation Scheme III (NERGS-III). It is intended to evacuate power from the Heo hydropower project with a capacity of 3×80 MW and the Tato I hydropower project with a capacity of 3×62 MW, both located in the Shi Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The project is also expected to support future hydropower development in the Siang sub-basin, where around 5,600 MW of capacity is projected by 2035. The estimated project cost stands at Rs 1,804 crore, with commissioning targeted by February 2029.
