Former Chief Secretary of Gujarat, Pankaj Joshi, has been appointed Chairperson of the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC).
The state government has also named Jatin Natvarlal Thakkar and Navinchandra Shah as Members of the Commission. The appointments follow recommendations made by a Selection Committee formed earlier this year to shortlist candidates for the posts.
An official notification said Joshi will take charge from the date he assumes office. He will lead the Commission responsible for tariff regulation, fair market practices and transparency in electricity sector governance across Gujarat. Joshi retired as Chief Secretary in October after serving in multiple senior roles, including in the Chief Minister’s Office.
