RVUNL awards 53 km transmission line contract for Pugal solar park
Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) has issued a Letter of Award (LoA) to a joint venture of Mohan Energy Corporation Pvt. Ltd. and Shilpa Steel and Power Ltd., Nagpur, for the development of transmission infrastructure linked to a 3,310 MW solar park in Tehsil Pugal, Bikaner.
Mohan Energy Corporation Pvt. Ltd. is the lead partner in the joint venture, while Shilpa Steel and Power Ltd., Nagpur, is the JV partner. The total contract value is about Rs 83.69 crore, excluding GST, based on the basic rates specified in the award document.
The project involves the turnkey execution of transmission infrastructure for the evacuation of power from the solar park. The scope includes survey, supply of equipment and materials, erection including civil works, testing, and commissioning of transmission lines.
Under the contract, the joint venture will construct 38 km of 400 kV double-circuit transmission line on double-circuit towers across four segments, with a basic amount of Rs 79.69 crore. In addition, a 15 km 400 kV single-circuit transmission line on double-circuit towers between PSS-2 and PSS-3 will be developed at a basic amount of Rs 5.31 crore.
The total transmission line length under the package is 53 km. The infrastructure will interconnect four park pooling substations (PPS-1 to PPS-4) of RVUN’s solar park and facilitate power evacuation to the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (RVPN) proposed grid substation at Pugal.
