NTPC announces winners of 1.2 GW ISTS-connected solar auction; allocates 976 MW

NTPC has released the results of its 1.2 GW ISTS-connected solar projects auction. The winning companies include SAEL Industries, Rays Power Infra, Refex Green, ReNew Solar, and Illuminate Hybren (Mahindra Susten).  SAEL secured 300 MW, Rays Power 100 MW, and Refex Green 100 MW, all at a tariff of Rs 2.50 per kWh. Union government sanctions three pilot projects for hydrogen use in steel production

MNRE clarifies ALMM exemption for solar projects with prior approval

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has clarified that its Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) order does not apply to open access and net-metering solar projects that secured approvals before October 1, 2022.  According to an official memorandum, this exemption covers projects where the initial application for approvals, such as in-principle approval or no objection certificate, was submitted before the specified date.
