OX2 to manage Piiparinmaki wind farm, Finland, for Nuveen

Renewable energy solutions provider OX2 has entered into an asset management agreement with Nuveen Infrastructure to manage the Piiparinmaki wind farm in Finland. OX2 will oversee the facility’s technical, commercial, and financial management, which began commercial production in the summer of 2022, to maximize its performance.

Nuveen Infrastructure, the private infrastructure investment arm of global asset manager Nuveen, manages $1.2 trillion in assets. Jordi Francesch, managing director of Nuveen Infrastructure Asset Management, expressed enthusiasm for the continued partnership with OX2, highlighting the importance of the Piiparinmaki wind farm as one of Finland’s largest clean energy assets.

The Piiparinmaki wind farm consists of 41 turbines and has an estimated annual production of 700 GWh, enough to supply electricity to approximately 140,000 households based on an average consumption of 5,000 kWh per household.

Lars Bryngelsson, managing director of OX2 TCM, noted that this agreement further strengthens OX2’s position as a leading asset manager in the Nordics, marking the 20th asset managed by OX2 that was developed and constructed by other parties. OX2’s portfolio now includes the management of 1,090 wind turbines with a total capacity of 5.5 GW. The company’s expertise also extends to managing solar farms and energy storage systems.
