Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) plans to expand its renewable energy portfolio to 2.5–3 gigawatts (GW) by 2030, Executive Director Satyan Kumar said on September 24, 2025. The company currently holds about 2.5 GW of renewable capacity.
Kumar also said ONGC intends to import 3 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year under long-term agreements. Some of these contracts could be finalised within the next 12 months.
Earlier in 2025, a senior ONGC executive indicated that the company targets up to $11.5 billion in clean energy investments by 2030.
