Odisha, Madhya Pradesh sign renewable energy cooperation pact

Odisha and Madhya Pradesh officials hold signed MoU documents during the 7th CII International Energy Conference and Exhibition in New Delhi.

The governments of Odisha and Madhya Pradesh have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for cooperation in renewable energy, energy storage, technology transfer and clean energy transition. The agreement is aimed at strengthening collaboration in policy, research, grid integration and capacity building between the two states.

The MoU was signed in New Delhi on the concluding day of the 7th CII International Energy Conference and Exhibition in the presence of Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Madhya Pradesh Minister of New & Renewable Energy Shri Rakesh Shukla.

Under the agreement, the two states will jointly promote solar, wind and hybrid renewable energy projects, while collaborating on energy storage, green hydrogen, research and innovation. They will also establish technical exchange mechanisms for policy formulation, regulatory practices and grid integration, besides undertaking joint research and development initiatives.

The MoU was signed by Shri Vishal Dev, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department, Government of Odisha, and Shri Manu Srivastava, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, New & Renewable Energy Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

Commenting on the partnership, Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo said, “By uniting the strategic vision and resources of Odisha and Madhya Pradesh, we are setting a strong benchmark for sustainable development, innovation, and resilient energy infrastructure that will accelerate India’s green growth trajectory.”
