NTPC has signed an MoU with USAID’s India Mission to create a roadmap for transforming its townships and offices into net zero establishments.
NTPC aims to achieve net zero Scope 2 emissions in its townships and offices by FY 2025-26. Efforts are also underway to make these locations net zero in water and waste.
The MoU outlines the development of strategies and a roadmap for achieving these goals, including benchmarking, implementation, certification, and national-level scaling. In 2022, NTPC signed a Statement of Intent with NITI Aayog to develop a net zero GHG emissions roadmap for the NTPC Group, aligned with India’s Panchamrit goals.
