NTPC Green Energy Limited has commissioned 75 MW of solar power capacity, raising its operational output to 225 MW under its 500 MW solar power project. The implementation is being carried out by IRCON Renewable Power Limited, a joint venture of Ayana Renewable Power Private Limited.
In a parallel development, Zelestra Energy (formerly Solarpack Corporación Tecnológica S.L) has commissioned 100 MW under the 300 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar power project awarded under SECI Tranche-IX in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Zelestra won the project in June 2020 by quoting a tariff of Rs 2.36 per kWh. The 300 MW (DC)/419 MWp solar PV project at Bari Seer village in Jodhpur is being developed on a build, own, and operate (BOO) basis.
The original bid for Tranche-IX was floated by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in March 2020 for 2,000 MW of solar capacity.
