NLC India wins SECI award for 200 MW wind project in Karnataka
NLC India Renewables Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for developing a 200 MW wind power project in Koppal district, Karnataka.
The award expands NLC India Renewables’ presence in the wind energy segment as the company takes up development of a utility-scale renewable power project.
Under the award, NLC India Renewables will establish the wind power facility and supply the electricity generated from the project to SECI. The project forms part of the broader government objective of increasing renewable energy capacity across the country.
Koppal, in eastern Karnataka, has favourable wind conditions that make the district suitable for utility-scale wind power generation. The project is expected to add to NLC India Renewables’ renewable energy portfolio as the company expands its presence in the wind sector.
Further details on the project’s commissioning timeline and specific financial arrangements are expected to be outlined as development progresses.
NLC India reported a 15.07% year-on-year increase in standalone revenue from operations to Rs 2,871.73 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The increase was driven by higher coal production and power generation. On a consolidated basis, group revenue rose 23.29% year-on-year to Rs 4,716.75 crore.
