NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a subsidiary of NLC India Limited, has signed a joint venture agreement with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT). The agreement was formalised on May 29, 2025.
The joint venture company will develop 5,000 MW of renewable energy projects across Maharashtra. These will include solar parks, wind projects, hybrid systems, floating solar installations, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and pumped storage projects (PSPs).
As part of Phase-I, the JV plans to commission a cumulative 500 MW renewable energy project in the state.
