NISE, SEPA sign MoU to strengthen renewable energy collaboration
The National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) and the Sustainability and Energy Practitioners Association (SEPA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen technical collaboration in renewable energy research, innovation and capacity building. The agreement aims to support India’s clean energy transition through joint research, technical initiatives and knowledge sharing.
The MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Rihan, Director General, NISE, and Dr. Raguram Arjunan, President, SEPA.
The collaboration will focus on advancing research and technical initiatives across distributed renewable energy (DRE), solar and hybrid energy systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), grid integration and flexibility, techno-economic assessments, industrial decarbonisation, and testing methodologies and performance benchmarking for emerging renewable energy technologies.
Areas of collaboration
The partnership will also support technical capacity building through specialised training programmes, policy studies, practitioner engagement, knowledge exchange, pilot projects, and the development of technical toolkits and model guidelines.
According to the organisations, the collaboration will combine NISE’s research and technical expertise with SEPA’s practitioner-led network to support the adoption of clean energy technologies and strengthen India’s renewable energy ecosystem in line with the vision of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
