Brazilian renewable energy company Casa dos Ventos has appointed Nextracker to provide 1.5 gigawatts of solar tracker systems for its first utility-scale solar projects. The agreement covers four new sites across Bahia and Mato Grosso do Sul.
The contracts include NX Horizon-XTR all-terrain trackers and NX Horizon systems for the 117 MW Babilônia Sul in Morro do Chapéu, the 226 MW Babilônia Centro in Várzea Nova, the 540 MW Seriemas, and the 680 MW Rio Brilhante projects.
Thiago Rezende, Casa dos Ventos’ construction and operations director, said the partnership ensures long-term reliability and performance. He added that Nextracker’s engineering expertise and proven track record make it a trusted technology partner.
These projects mark Casa dos Ventos’ first foray into large-scale solar deployment and support its strategy to build hybrid power plants that combine solar and wind energy at shared grid connections. Integrating multiple energy sources aims to optimise grid capacity and address Brazil’s transmission limitations.
