Moldova’s Energocom has issued a wind power tender of about 105 MW, and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has posted the notice on its website. The tender seeks onshore projects using modern multi MW turbines with a minimum rating of 3 MW.
The technical requirements remain extensive. Turbines must comply with IEC Class II or Class III. They need a rotor diameter of at least 100 metres and a hub height of 80 metres or more, with 120 to 140 metres advised. The specifications match current global models such as the Vestas V150 and Siemens Gamesa SG 155 in the 4 to 6 MW range. The project must include a full SCADA system and meet all Moldova Grid Code provisions, including active power curtailment and frequency regulation. The developer will fund the complete grid connection.
The tender places emphasis on project due diligence. Developers must conduct a wind resource study based on at least twelve months of data, complete an Environmental Impact Assessment, and secure all urban planning and civil aviation permits. The commercial structure follows a competitive feed-in premium with a ceiling of about 1.50 MDL per kWh. The PPA with Energocom will run for fifteen years. All equipment must carry a warranty of at least ten years.
