The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has launched a nationwide innovation challenge focused on circularity in renewable energy technologies.
The challenge targets batteries and solar photovoltaics and invites proposals from Indian R&D entities under the RE-RTD (Renewable Energy Research and Technology Development) Scheme.
The initiative seeks to reduce waste, improve sustainability, and strengthen resource efficiency in the renewable energy sector. Proposals must align with one or more of three themes: design and manufacturing innovations, second-life use and recycling innovations, or operational management innovations.
The challenge categorizes innovations based on their Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs):
Funding support will be awarded accordingly:
Applications open on June 23, 2025, and the last date for submission is July 15, 2025.
