Mitsubishi Power, part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, has completed the 1.4GW Hin Kong natural gas-fired gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plant in Thailand.
The plant, a joint venture between RATCH Group and Gulf Energy Development, features two advanced M701JAC gas turbines.
The second turbine began commercial operations 100km west of Bangkok, following the first turbine’s operational start in March 2024.
Mitsubishi Power will continue supporting the plant under a 25-year long-term service agreement (LTSA) signed in 2020.
To date, Mitsubishi Power has supplied 22 gas turbines for RATCH and GULF projects, contributing over 14,000MW to Thailand’s power capacity.
