United Group, a Southeastern Europe-based telecommunications and media company, has committed €120 million ($124.6 million) to green electricity production in Bulgaria.

The investment will supply 160% of the electricity needed for the company’s Bulgarian operations and meet 65% of its total electricity demand by 2027, reducing CO₂ emissions by 120,000 tonnes annually.

The initiative includes three solar plants and a wind farm with a combined capacity of 124MW, generating 310,000 MWh per year to power more than 60,000 households. A battery system will store up to 1.5 times the peak energy production.
