Maharashtra signs MoUs worth Rs 15,600 crore for renewable energy projects

The Maharashtra government has signed a series of investment agreements to strengthen its renewable energy and digital infrastructure sectors. A key highlight is the commitment of Rs 15,600 crore towards solar manufacturing.
Jupiter International will invest Rs 10,900 crore to set up facilities for solar wafer, cell, and module production at Butibori in Nagpur district. The project is expected to create about 8,308 jobs. LNK Green Energy Private Limited has pledged Rs 4,700 crore for a 6 GW solar cell and module manufacturing unit at Auric, MITL, with an estimated 2,500 direct jobs. Together, the two agreements represent more than 10,800 employment opportunities.
The state also signed an MoU with Global India Business Corridor Limited (GIBC) to promote partnerships and investments from markets including the United Kingdom, the European Union, and the United States. The cooperation extends beyond energy to cover infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, healthcare, and education.
In the digital infrastructure segment, Prestige Estates Projects Ltd will invest Rs 12,500 crore in a data centre campus at Taloja, a 100-acre global competency centre in Navi Mumbai, and a logistics hub in Khalapur. Additional investments include Rs 4,846 crore by Webmint Digital Private Limited and Vow Iron and Steel Private Limited for a data centre at the Additional Taloja Industrial Area. Rovision Tech Hub Private Limited and Rochak Systems Private Limited will invest Rs 2,564 crore and Rs 2,508 crore, respectively, in new data centre campuses at TTC Industrial Area.
