Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reaffirmed his government’s commitment to continue providing free electricity to farmers and promote solar energy adoption in the agricultural sector.

At the ongoing Winter Session in Nagpur, Fadnavis stated that solar energy infrastructure represents a one-time investment, expected to reduce agriculture costs.

Energy sector highlights:

  • 16,000 MW of solar power projects initiated
  • 667 MW already operational
  • Target: 52% renewable energy by 2030
