The Madhya Pradesh cabinet has approved a 2,000 MW solar park and a 1,000 MW energy storage project to enable seasonal power sharing with Uttar Pradesh.
Electricity will be supplied to Madhya Pradesh during its Rabi season (October–March) and to Uttar Pradesh during the Kharif season (April–September), aligning with each state’s peak agricultural demand.
Madhya Pradesh’s farm electricity needs account for 41% of its total consumption, peaking during Rabi, while Uttar Pradesh’s demand is higher in Kharif. This complementary demand structure allows optimal use of solar and storage capacity across both states.
