LOHUM Cleantech Ltd, ReElement Technologies Corporation, and American Metals have formalised a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a fully integrated lithium-ion battery recycling and materials processing facility in the United States. With an initial investment of $30 million, the facility will have a capacity of 15.5 GWh and is expected to create 250 jobs focused on environmentally sustainable operations.

Located at the Marion Advanced Technology Centre in Indiana, the facility will support North America’s lithium-based battery supply chain by producing over 99.5% pure battery-grade materials. The joint venture aims to manage the entire battery lifecycle, from cell testing and second-life applications to recycling and refining critical minerals. There are plans for potential expansion to other locations.
