Gentari and Shell partner to enable EV charger roaming in India
Author: PPD Team Date: July 11, 2025
Gentari Green Mobility India and Shell India have launched a roaming partnership that allows electric vehicle (EV) users to access each other’s charging infrastructure through a single interface. Starting July 10, 2025, Shell Recharge stations will be visible on the Gentari Go app, while Gentari’s charging network will be available to Shell Recharge users.
The collaboration covers over 450 public charging points across India, focusing on urban areas in the western and southern regions. This move will improve the reliability and convenience of EV charging by offering real-time updates on charger availability, shared infrastructure data, and a consistent user experience.
Gentari Go already supports more than 3,000 charging points in India and over 5,000 across Asia. The new partnership builds on that network by expanding coverage through interoperability. The companies aim to lower the entry barriers for EV adoption by enabling unified access to public charging and minimising downtime due to fragmented charging ecosystems.
This announcement comes soon after Shell India’s collaboration with the Directorate General of Training (DGT) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The initiative will deliver green mobility training through selected industrial training institutes (ITIs) and national skill training institutes (NSTIs) across five states: Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
