Eastman Auto partners with Urja Mobility for lithium-ion battery technology

Eastman Auto and Power Limited (EAPL), through its subsidiary Eastman New Energy Private Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MTOW Mobility Private Limited (Urja Mobility) to collaborate on developing and deploying lithium-ion battery technology for India’s growing electric vehicle (EV) market.
As part of the partnership, Urja Mobility has committed to sourcing over 20,000 lithium-ion batteries from Eastman to support its nationwide battery leasing initiatives. Additionally, Eastman will integrate Urja Mobility’s IoT and software solutions into its lithium battery products, enabling remote monitoring and analytics to improve operational efficiency.
By combining Eastman’s lithium-ion battery manufacturing expertise with Urja Mobility’s innovative battery leasing model, the partnership aims to advance the sustainability and performance of electric transportation in India.
Founded in 2006, EAPL is a leader in the energy transition sector, providing solutions in last-mile e-mobility, solar power, and energy storage. The company offers a range of energy solutions, including technology-agnostic storage systems and power conversion products for solar and backup applications. EAPL operates with an annual production capacity of 25 GW and a presence in over 50 countries.
