The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ather Energy Limited. The partnership is part of the Build in Bharat initiative, led by the Startup Policy Forum (SPF), a coalition of over 50 startups focused on innovation and manufacturing.
The MoU will support deep-tech and hardware startups involved in EVs, clean energy, and battery innovation. It outlines cooperation in key areas such as strategic mentorship, infrastructure support, joint innovation programmes, and talent development. Planned initiatives include the Bharat Startup Grand Challenge, exposure visits, co-hosted skill development programmes, and participation in national startup events like Startup Mahakumbh.
The collaboration is expected to open new opportunities for startups in the EV supply chain, deepen support for deep-tech ventures, and align with India’s industrial and climate goals.
