Datta Infra commits Rs 50 billion to Rajasthan’s renewable energy sector
Datta Power Infra has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to invest Rs 50 billion in Rajasthan’s renewable energy sector during the Rising Rajasthan 2024 event.
The project will focus on developing 1,000 MW of renewable energy capacity, including solar, wind, and hybrid power projects across key districts such as Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Nagaur, Pratapgarh, and Jodhpur.
These initiatives will integrate with the State Transmission Utility (STU) for efficient energy distribution. Additionally, a significant portion of the projects will operate under the KUSUM scheme, a government initiative promoting decentralized solar power generation.
The company currently manages a renewable energy asset portfolio of 2.5 GW and has acquired over 55,000 acres of land for solar projects. Its achievements include more than 50 completed projects across India, such as a 1 GW solar power project, a 225 MW hybrid project, and multiple wind energy projects in Barmer, Rajasthan. The company also specializes in high-capacity transmission line construction.
The Rs 50 billion investment is expected to generate between 500 and 750 jobs, contributing to Rajasthan’s economic growth. It aligns with Datta Infra’s long-term strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio by 30 per cent over the next five years.
CEO Varchasvi Gagal stated, “At Datta Infra, we are not just investing in renewable energy; we are investing in a sustainable future for Rajasthan and India.”
