Cubico Sustainable Investments has announced the start of commercial operations at Crossett Solar Park, a 132 MWdc solar PV facility in Ashley County, Arkansas.

The facility, now connected to the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) network, will supply clean energy to Google under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).

This is Cubico’s second solar PV plant launched within a year, showcasing the company’s commitment to renewable energy. The PPA allows Google to power its Midwest data centres with carbon-free energy, supporting the tech giant’s sustainability goals as demand from AI and machine learning grows.

The agreement was streamlined by LevelTen Energy’s Accelerated Process (LEAP), making clean energy procurement more efficient. Google’s Amanda Peterson Corio emphasized that the partnership with Cubico will provide new carbon-free energy, reinforcing Google’s clean energy strategy and contributing to job creation in the renewable sector.

Tax equity financing for the Crossett Solar Park was closed by Greenprint Capital in June 2024. Peter DeFazio, managing director at Greenprint, highlighted the role of the Inflation Reduction Act in enabling innovative financing solutions for renewable projects, which further strengthens Arkansas’s renewable infrastructure.
