Blue Energy to invest Rs 35 billion in electric trucks in Maharashtra

Blue Energy Motors, a key partner in Essar’s green mobility initiative, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to invest Rs 35 billion in establishing an electric truck manufacturing facility.
The facility, set to begin operations in FY 2025-26, will have the capacity to produce 30,000 electric trucks annually.
The facility will include advanced research and development capabilities, a battery-pack production line, a motor manufacturing unit, and charging stations.
The project is expected to create direct employment for 4,000 individuals while supporting the company’s goal of contributing to sustainable development and climate change mitigation through green trucking solutions.
