BGR Tech Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with South Korea’s Elchemtech Company Limited to introduce proton exchange membrane water electrolysers (PEMWE) in India.
BGR Tech will integrate these electrolysers into its balance-of-plant (BoP) systems for green hydrogen projects nationwide. Both companies also evaluate the feasibility of manufacturing or assembling PEMWE stacks in India using Elchemtech’s technology, aligning with the “Make in India” initiative.
Elchemtech’s PEMWE features a single stack capacity of 240 normal cubic meters per hour or 1.25 MW. BGR Tech will incorporate its BoP components, including ultrapure water treatment, gas separation, hydrogen and oxygen purification, low-pressure storage, and other facilities, within modular skid-based configurations.
In February 2025, BGR Tech launched a 100 kW hydrogen purification system capable of delivering 99.999 per cent pure, fuel cell-grade hydrogen. The system features a scalable modular design for high-pressure operations up to 30 bar, supporting applications in fuel cells, combustion engines, and industrial processes like steel annealing.
Headquartered in Chennai, BGR Tech specializes in engineering and manufacturing process equipment for the energy sector.
