Bajaj Electricals to enter cables business

Bajaj Electricals Limited has decided to enter the cables category as a new business line under its existing Lighting Solutions segment, according to a stock exchange filing dated June 4, 2026.

The company said the decision was driven by growing demand in the cables industry. It plans to commence operations in the product category shortly.

According to the filing, the investment size will be evaluated and determined based on market opportunities, anticipated scale of operations, and business requirements.

Quarterly performance

Bajaj Electricals reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 67.53 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, compared with a profit of Rs 59.05 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue from operations during the quarter stood at Rs 1,239.52 crore, down 2.05% from Rs 1,265.47 crore a year earlier. Total expenses increased to Rs 1,242.10 crore from Rs 1,231.77 crore in the year-ago period.

Other expenses rose 10.06% year-on-year to Rs 226.23 crore from Rs 205.55 crore, while employee benefit expenses remained largely flat at Rs 94.40 crore compared with Rs 94.96 crore last year. Finance costs declined 27.23% to Rs 13.15 crore from Rs 18.07 crore.
