APM Terminals Pipavav has entered a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Brookfield-backed CleanMax to source renewable energy from a hybrid wind-solar project in Gujarat.

The hybrid project includes 3.50 MW of wind and 1.06 MWp of solar capacity under a third-party open-access model, developed in two phases. Phase one, launched in January 2022, delivered 2 MW of wind and 0.50 MWp of solar capacity. Phase two, commissioned in September 2024, added 1.50 MW of wind and 0.56 MWp of solar capacity.

This initiative aligns with APM Terminals Pipavav’s net-zero goal by 2040 and its aim to cut Scope-I and II emissions by 65 per cent by 2030 (compared to 2022 levels). The renewable energy setup will generate approximately 54 lakh kWh annually, reducing carbon emissions by 3,822 tonnes per year—equivalent to planting over 2.24 lakh trees.
