Apar wins Rs 2.48 billion contracts for reconductoring works

Apar Industries Limited has bagged two contracts worth Rs 1,329.17 million and Rs 1,155.96 million under the Eastern Region Expansion Scheme-43 (ERES-43). The awards were announced on May 2, 2025.
The tenders were issued by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) in October 2024. Apar will carry out reconductoring works and associated bay upgradations under two packages: OH01 and OH02.
Package OH01 covers the reconductoring of the 400 kV double-circuit Kahalgaon (NTPC)–Farraka (NTPC) line with Twin high-temperature low-sag (HTLS) conductors. The project also includes bay equipment upgrades at both substations. The line length is 190 circuit km (ckm).
Package OH02 includes reconductoring the 400 kV double-circuit Talcher (NTPC)–Meramundali (OPTCL) line with similar HTLS conductors across 140 ckm. One circuit is routed via Angul and bypassed at Angul. Bay upgrades will also be done at Talcher and Meramundali substations.
All work is to be completed by July 2026. PGCIL will execute the project under the regulated tariff mechanism (RTM) mode.
