Andritz has secured a contract from Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) to supply electromechanical (E&M) equipment for the 1,500 MW Tarali pumped storage project (PSP) in Maharashtra’s Satara district.
The scope includes the design, manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning of pump turbines, motor-generators, and related systems. Andritz will use its Indian manufacturing base with support from its global network.
The Tarali PSP, located in Patan taluka, will have a total storage capacity of 9,000 MWh. The project will use the existing Tarali reservoir as the lower reservoir, while a new concrete dam will be built near Nivade village to form the upper reservoir.
The scheme includes two headrace tunnels, two deep surge shafts, long pressure shafts, and an underground powerhouse housing four 300 MW units and two 150 MW units. The project also features approach channels, tailrace tunnels, access adits, and support infrastructure.
