JSW Neo Energy wins 400 MW solar power project from NTPC

JSW Energy’s wholly owned subsidiary, JSW Neo Energy, has received a letter of award (LoA) from NTPC for the development of a 400 MW ISTS-connected solar power project.Â
This award is part of NTPC’s competitive bidding process for 1,500 MW of ISTS-connected solar projects (NTPC-ISTS-III).
With this addition, JSW Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity has increased to 19.6 GW, including 4.4 GW dedicated to solar projects.Â
The company currently operates 7.7 GW across thermal, hydro, and renewable energy and aims for 10 GW of operational capacity by FY2025.
JSW Energy also has 16.2 GWh of energy storage capacity, through battery storage and hydro-pumped storage projects.Â
The company plans to achieve 20 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030 and targets carbon neutrality by 2050.
