AMEA Power has commissioned the 500 MW Abydos Solar PV Plant in Egypt’s Aswan Governorate.
The plant will generate around 1,500 GWh of renewable energy annually, reducing carbon emissions by 782,300 tonnes. The project was completed in 18 months.
Additionally, AMEA Power has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) and land agreement for a 500 MW wind project in Egypt.
The Abydos Solar PV Plant received financing from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank (FMO), and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
