Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has reached a major milestone, surpassing 15,000 MW of operational renewable energy capacity. The company now operates 15,539.9 MW, making it the fastest and largest capacity addition in India’s renewable sector to date.
The portfolio includes 11,005.5 MW of solar, 1,977.8 MW of wind, and 2,556.6 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity.
AGEL is the first and only renewable energy company in India to cross this mark. Most of this capacity has been built through greenfield projects.
AGEL’s current capacity can power about 7.9 million homes. The company says its portfolio could light up 13 Indian states or the entire northeast region.
This milestone comes as AGEL completes 10 years of renewable energy operations in India. Ashish Khanna, CEO of AGEL, called it “a moment of immense pride.” He credited the team’s efforts, strong leadership, and continued support from investors and partners. He also reaffirmed AGEL’s goal to grow its capacity to 50,000 MW by 2030.
